Regional Departmental Inquiry Officer, Nashik Division, Nashik
The mechanism of the ‘Regional Departmental Inquiry Officer’ has been established through the offices of six Regional Departmental Inquiry Officers at the Revenue Divisional level for completing inquiries related to disciplinary proceedings against Group A and Group B (Gazetted) officers of the Maharashtra State Government as per the Departmental Inquiry Rulebook, 1991, and submitting reports to the Disciplinary Authority. Accordingly, the office of the Regional Departmental Inquiry Officer, Nashik Division, Nashik, has been created under the Hon’ble Divisional Commissioner, Nashik Division, Nashik.
For these offices, the cadre structure has been determined by the General Administration Department as per the Government Resolution dated 28 October, 2009. According to this structure, a total of four posts were sanctioned for the office of the Regional Departmental Inquiry Officer.
Additionally, as per the Government Resolution of the General Administration Department dated 10 July, 2024, approval has been granted for the revised cadre structure of the offices of the Regional Departmental Inquiry Officers, along with the creation of two new posts. With this revised structure, the total number of posts in this office has now increased to six.
Among these, the post of Inquiry Officer is filled through transfer by the General Administration Department from among state government officers holding the position of Deputy Secretary or equivalent, or those in a higher pay scale. The remaining three posts i.e. Stenographer (Lower Grade), Clerk-Typist, and Peon are filled on deputation at the level of the Divisional Commissioner’s office. Additionally, the two new posts i.e. Assistant Desk Officer and one Clerk-Typist are under the control of the General Administration Department and are filled through deputation from employees of Mantralaya departments.
